General Dentistry
General dentistry involves the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of many different types of problems affecting your teeth, gums and regions associated with your face and jaw.
We are here to help prevent and treat many of these problems that come with the every day wear and tear of your teeth. It is recommended by the American Dental Association that you visit a dentist regularly at least every six months to ensure proper hygiene and prevent tooth decay, cavities and other serious dental problems.
At A Beautiful Smile, we will provide you with a full dental examination to determine what needs to be done to ensure you have healthy teeth and gums for life. An individualized plan is developed to prevent or treat disease states of the oral cavity.
Many of the common procedures that are most likely used to can be found here.
- X-rays
- Teeth Cleaning
- Periodontal (gum disease) treatment
- Dental Fillings - There are a few different filling materials you can choose from: gold, amalgam, composite resin (white filling material) or porcelain. When you visit our office be sure to ask about the different options that are available to you.
- Bonding - This is a term used to describe the process of using composite resins to “glue” materials to the surface of a tooth for restorative purposes. Usually you can fix chipped or cracked teeth using bonding procedures.
- Root Canals – Nobody likes these, but they are necessary to remove infected tissue within the root. Endodontists specialize in performing root canal therapy, though general dentists also can perform this procedure as well.
- Dental Bridges – Dental bridges replace missing teeth with artificial replacements.
- Dental Crowns- Dental crowns can repair extensively decayed teeth. Dental crowns can be made from gold metals, silver metals and porcelain. Sometimes dental veneers can replace the need for dental crowns.
- Laser Procedures – In some cases laser dentistry can replace the need to drill teeth or to use other more invasive procedures.
- Dentures
